When brothers John and Mike Garofalo opened the Harvey Cedars Shellfish Co. in 1974, both of them fresh out of high school, neither had any idea that more than 30 years later they would still be serving some of the best seafood on Long Beach Island. Incorporated in 1976, the Shellfish Co. is known as a local institution specializing in fresh local seafood, much of it from our local docks in Barnegat Light. Situated in the heart of beautiful Harvey Cedars, the restaurant has been recognized as one of the island's premier dining destinations by numerous publications, including the prestigious Zagat Survey. Based in a circa 1920 beach house, the casual, laid-back environment is fitting for the restaurant's unique take on Jersey Shore fare.
